Slide topper fabric wrinkles on one end

I have a 2014 class A motor home with 4 slides. The slide topper on one slide wrinkles on one end when the slide is retracted. What could I do to remedy this problem?
Thanks
  • Thanks for the suggestions. I will look at it this week.
  • Could be the fabric isn't seated square. You can do what DSDPDon suggested and if that dosen't work try unrolling the fabric on the roller and slide forward or backwards. Just remember there is a lot of tension in the spring, use extreme caution and once you have it unrolled have a small screw driver available to place in the slot to keep it from releasing. Once you have it squared, slowing allow the extra fabric to rewind. I had to do this when I replaced a topper a couple of weeks ago. Probably would have been easier with two people, one on each end.

If the fabric is evenly spaced on the roller, DSDPDon advise is the way to go
  • tmmar.....The fabric is attached to the drip rail on the side of the coach. Often, it is held in place to keep it from sliding front or back by a screw at both ends. You might try removing the screw at the end that is wrinkling. Pull the material a little (away from the slide and then try moving the slide in and out. If this fixes the issue, reset the screw.
  • Ours does the same thing. We had a tech tighten the spring and although that helped, it didn't fix the problem completely. The fabric stretches on the end and we haven't found a way to fix it except replace the fabric. When we replace it, we will go with Sunbrella or similar fabric that lasts longer. If you have enough fabric one tech said you could remove the fabric, cut some off and restitch with better thread and stitching and then stretch it to fit the roller. Seems like a lot of work for little return.
