HIDs should not be a normal maintenance item. They usually last the life of a vehicle unlike halogens.

The one I asked about looked like garden variety headlights.

True? If so, Yuck! He said he'd just had it in there for service and the lamp went out about a day after.

Bollocks. 10 minute job. I've done it. It is one of the easier vehicles to change a bulb on. The Sprinter is designed as a fleet vehicle so maintenance is easy. Under-hood access is super easy to everything (unlike some brands that start with F).

Just as I suspected. This guy was pressing to get to the next campground and didn't want to have a discussion or let me take a look.
Next time I'll be more assertive.

to even make this easier , google sprinter headlight replacement . it gives you a easy follow directions how to do it.

I have a sprinter,, I went out and looked, think I candle this job. looks like a 15min repair.
