my stairs quit working on my 2002 fleetwood bounder 34 foot motorhome with a ford chassis. There is no power to the switch. where is the 20 amp fuse located that provides battery power to the switch. the switch has 4 prongs but i know specifically which one is power.
..."I feel like an idiot " well how about the time i drove my new Polaris off my trailer it would not start the next day....fuel shut off. What I learned being on forums and do my best to practice is not to be critical of any questions asked. Having put a wrench to almost anything that has a steering wheel or levers I have seen simple questions save serious injuries. I learned something from your post that i can pass on to the next guy.
I had no marking on my switch , i too had to mark it. Itโs just a DUH moment. Thatโs normal, we all have them , but we realize it. Itโs people that donโt realize it that are stupid. :B
I found the problem with my stairs not working. Stupid me. The batteries were in the disconnect position. I feel like an idiot but on a Fleetwood Bounder disconnect switch there is no on or off marking. I marked them for future use. Thanks to everyone that responded to my concern.
If you open the door do you notice any copper colored round pins on the door jamb. There is a switch that senses that the door is closed or open and that adds continuity to the power side, at least it did on my Cambria. Using a small piece of emery cloth I buffed them up and it worked again. My step would go out but not retract automatically when placed into gear.
