stealth in a excel/wide body?

Don't think it will be a problem our B+ fits width wise into parking spaces, but at 25+ feet and bicycles on the back I have to take a double space length wise. So I always park at the very end of a lot.

I've not heard of anyone complaining about Excels with regard to width. They are a couple inches wider, just like the Roadtrek 210s, but they don't fill the full 100 inches like some B+ rigs do.

Length-wise, an Excel is about 19-20 feet, so should fit in a normal parking space.

The only real way to find out is to test drive one, or just see how it fits in a parking space.

As for stealth parking, it still looks like a van, because of the way it tapers from back to front. However, the vents and awning will give it away to anyone familiar with "B"s.

Thanks guys - that's all really helpful. I am wondering if there is a way to take off the awning? I mean, I dont think i'll need it and I dont want it to give away that its not a van. How about driveability? It's a Dodge Chassis and has The 5.9L Magnum V8

Hi we just purchased a Pleasure way and have had no problem with stealth parking. We have overnighted
in many different types of RV's and this is difinitely the easiest of any we have had. Get it an join the PW
owners group and they will give you many ideas. Leave the awing it doesn't make a difference.

We have a 2004 Excel TD and have never had parking problems, but did buy a back-up camera a few years ago because pedestrians in parking lots are scary. We mainly have to watch for height limitations at fast food places, things like that. We're right at 10' high and 20' long. I don't think there are many people who don't see "RV" loud and clear when they look at it, though. The A/C unit is another obvious giveaway, along with the decals. Taking the Excel out brings a lot of questions and lookie-loos but we don't mind.

Have not had any problems with parking our 2001 PW Excel TD, the few inches extra width haven't posed any difficulty and the length is good. A backup camera is probably a good idea, especially if you're driving solo where nobody can check behind you as you maneuver in the parking lots. Our Excel is 8ft 8in tall but that's usually too high for some fast food places.

Thanks guys - very important info you are giving me! How much would a back up camera cost and how do I get one installed? Also - I agree that I dont think they look very "stealthy" compared to the roadtrek with the air conditioning vent on top - I was thinking of having it painted one color so as to not have the decals anymore on there as a dead give away. Perhaps that would help? I'm not sure how tall the one I'm looking at is - but I dont care much about fast food ( I'm gluten intolerant ) - just trying to get through tunnels while driving cross country but i'm sure that's not a problem since huge tractor trailers drive through them.

Any other thoughts on the 2000 PW Excel TD?

I have a 2003 PW Excel, V8 wide body. I live in metro San Diego and for a few years I parked on the street without any problems. Commercial parking lots are a piece of cake.
I applied one of those approx. 14" x 10" clear wide angle magnifier sheets to the passenger back window and never needed anything else for backing up / parking, etc.

Going through tunnels shouldn't be an issue in most places. At worst, you just shut off a valve on your propane tank. There are two Connecticut tunnels which completely forbid any type of propane completely, but most allow RVs. Never hurts to check.
