- mlts22ExplorerAre Sterlings class "A" motorhomes, like the Winnebago Via?
- My_RoadtrekExplorerSterling is Great West Vans. David DeBraga purchased the company in April 2012 and moved it to Alabama.
Sterling is making trailers and Class B's. - FastpaddlerExplorerSterling rigs are first class. What irks me while deciding on a replacement for my Sprinter is that I have to pay an additional 6.1 percent NAFTA fee because the MB Sprinter body is built in Europe(Germany presumably). I was told here that the MB Sprinters will be built in the USA soon thereby giving MB more competitiveness against the growing competition.
AL - avantiExplorerWe own the very first American-made GWV legend. It's awesome:

Sprinters are already "made" here in the US, due to the chicken tax. They are built, partially disassembled, then "re-assembled" here in the US.
It would be nice if they were truly made here, similar to Transits or Toyota Tundras. - FastpaddlerExplorer

I heard a rumour from a local RV dealer that Mercedes Benz is planning to have the Sprinter completely built in the USA for our market. That would presumably apply to the units sent here for RV conversions. ANybody heard that? - RobertRyanExplorer

Correct that is what Mercedes wants to do, I would assume in a Freightliner factory
