Dennis you guys were very lucky
sounds like it was a water spout, they come up quick and don't last as long, carrying all that water diminishes some of the power

i lived in Indiana on 'Black Wednesday' April 3rd 1974 ?

i watched TWO tornados go around my location,
yes they were several miles way, but we could see both of them one to the north east and one to the south of us traveling in north west direction
