Swivel Seat Retro for Ford E350

I wish they made a commercial off the shelf product that the average person can install this.

I also put some washers between square tubing and floor. Those were needed so that the bolts and nuts that connect the bracket to the square tubing would actually clear the factory bolts that bolt the square tubing to the floor. Of the entire job, the bolt clearance was the only partially tricky part of it. I could have tried reversing the bracket to tubing bolts so the nuts were on top. That would have given plenty of clearance without the washers, but I had a hard time getting the bolts to fit that way due to the length that I made the square tubing. It was easier with the bolts facing downward...but it required the spacers between the floor and the tubing to make proper clearance. For safety I used grade 8 bolts.

(footstool, not footstall. Cannot find spellcheck in photoshop and don't care enough to go back and fix it. :D )

Sorry it took so long, but I now have some pictures for you. Bought swivel base online from discountvantruck. RV is 2003 Winnebago Chalet 31cr. Std E-450 chassis. Did some slight mods to make it fit perfect. Reaming seat holes, raised it 2" and just to be sure I cleared the brand new floor I ground a tiny bit off of a non functional piece of the bracket. At first I was only lukewarm as it was not as easy to swivel as hoped. But now that I have the swivel method figured out, it is easy. Now I am considering buying the drivers side too. It really opens up the interior when parked with the seat swiveled 180. Next the pictures will come...as I figure out how. May take me a few minutes

In 1988 we bought a new 22' Mallard on an E-350 chassis. Ordered swivel seats in the cab. That was a wast of $, There was not room to swivel them.

Phoenix Cruisers have swivel passenger seats and roughly a 2" height variation between the cab floor and house floor. There is lots of extra clearence if your motor home floor is a lot higher.

I would call the Phoenix Cruiser factory and ask who supplies their passenger swivel seat bases. The factory buys the seat bases from one supplier and actual seats from another. The mounting is generic with maybe 2 possible mounting stem centers. Measure your seat stem-to-stem, front to back and side to side, and have that data handy when calling that supplier. I am sure they will sell you a swivel seat base direct. If not, the Phoenix factory just might ship one to you.

Here is our front passenger seat swivelled. I wish I had a better picture handy. I do need to mention that neither front seat has an armrest on the door side. The seat might not swivel with an armrest there unless the door was open.

The link on that thread as to where he got the swivel from discount van truck has Ford swivels on their site. Might be best to check with them. Looking at their 2007+ Ford RV seats, they state that the swivels are on a raised bottom plate. Perhaps that raised bottom plate is enough to give it that lift that you want.

OK- this sounds like we might be getting somewhere. So with the raised height of the seat, will it still fit (height wise) under the cabover bed when the bed is fully employed and the space over the seat is now covered?

I got my passenger swivel mount from discount van truck online. I had to raise it by 2". I used some steel square tubing for that. I also had to grind a little on one edge to completely clear the floor as I had new floor put in and did not want to risk it hitting. It wasn't too much extra work, but I had the steel and tools to fabricate the 2" lift. It really improves the space inside. My girlfriend likes the extra height too. It isn't a real smooth swivel, as I have to adjust the recline and front to back seat position to swivel it 180 and clear the armrest/door. But it goes ok. We swivel 180 when we park it, then don't touch it until we leave. All said and done it is worth the money and effort for me. I wont do it for the drivers side because I don't want to be 2" higher in the seat while driving but I am happy with the results for the passenger side.

Also, 180 sitting on it, yes, you are closer to the floor and the floor is basically like your footstool. Mainly this is just nice as 180 makes it feel roomier. Plus the dog likes it...he can look out the window and still see what is going on inside with us.
