T-9 squeaky steps

Realize there have been a ton of threads on squeaky steps. I'm hoping this is not a replay of one of them.

I have automatic steps and they squeak like a good thing when extending and retracting. I've sprayed each of the hinges but they still squeak. I have a can of T-9 but I'm not sure where to direct the spray to enhance the motion.

Anyone got any ideas?
  • I used a spray white lithium grease on my squeaky steps, worked great. Sprays on thin like WD 40, then thickens to grease, spray on all pivot points, and spray while step is going in and out.
  • I had the same problem. I sprayed all pivot points and it still squeaked and groaned. I finally crawled under the rig and had the DW open and close the stairs. When open I could see an actuator arm in the center of the stairs. Once I sprayed it all squeaks stopped. Good luck.
