Taking RV out of long-term storage

thanks for the help everyone now not feeling so overwhelmed :)

already planned to replace battery & tires

main concern was gasoline and LP fuel

Start her up, and if she runs ok, DRIVE. Burn half the fuel that's in there, and fill up and add seafoam then.

Just check all the fluids, make sure the transmission is full (most likely to be an issue.) Start it up, keep an eye on your gauges, and watch your brakes. After that long they will be rusty.

Once you're feeling good about the rig, put new fuel in it, and enjoy yourself and forget it's been sitting.

Also, keep an eye on the roof for leaks, and your tire pressure. With a little bit of patience and watchfulness, you'll be fine.

Very Important:

Sterilize your potable water system with a mix of bleach and water. This will not only kill any bacteria but will help eliminate any foul tastes from the plumbers antifreeze.

First, check for critters and critter damage.
Second, you'll most likely have some rubber hoses that have aged and will eventually have to be replaced. I'd get several feet of various size hose from your local auto parts store and have it handy. Don't forget fuel hose.

I believe the Sun Voyager is a gas model, so I'd simply change the fuel and oil filters, put in some fresh oil, add a can a Sea Foam to the fuel tank and spin it around the block.

Check the tire date codes. Even though it's been sitting, the tires most likely have aged out in the five years. Change them as soon as possible...they are time bombs.

Clean her up and enjoy RVing again. Hope your health has returned to satisfactory levels....Dennis

tires very important, get a couple cans of SEA FOAM at wal mart dump in the fuel tank ,it,ll eat water and clean up the fuel system. good luck ,and fix things one at a time , might just cruise your local area for couple hundred miles ,till you feel a long run could be do able.

To be honest, I only remember one, and I think it was the bowl type.

I'm finding that trying to remember proper procedure is a major challenge. ;)
