Tell me about Coast to Coast

Is the Coast to Coast camping membership good, bad, indifferent? Anyone that is a member can you tell me about it? What are the costs I heard you can set up one site were you can stay 24/7/365. If you go full time (can you go full time) what doe's that cost?

Hey Ray, That was Don of course and he waited till the last minute to renew and when he couldn't get the 100 bucks off, he wanted to cancel it...so I guess he only has himself to blame. Oh well!

Dwight shouldn't be a cancelation fee as long as you notify them 30 days before renewal that you don't want to renew, as it is an annual membership.

Kind of interesting in regards to cancellation costs. Since the Thousand Trails Zone Pass gets a lot of attention, my camping buddy chose not to renew his Zone Pass because he couldn't get the same price I paid at renewal...they charged him a 49.00 cancellation fee! Another one of those "Fine Print" details....

C2C....don't renew/don't pay dues.....no more C2C.
You are no longer a C2C member. Simple.

Now the 'home' park may have been different but not C2C or RPI or AOR
They are just a yearly membership program.
'Home' parks have ALL kinds of different memberships/clauses etc.

The 'home' park is what you need to read up on...fine print.
But there are a lot of 'home' parks that have frozen dues and you can cancel membership at anytime.

Then when her father died and her mother stopped camping she couldn't sell it or even give it away. She was willing to give it away to anybody, even a stranger, just sign the papers. No takers. They will sue you and your estate for past due money you must pay every year. You cannot just walk away from the plan.

Home park with C2C (RPI & AOR)
We have 'Deluxe' C2C which allows up to 2 weeks at an affiliate CG.
Don't know of ANY affiliate CG that allows 24/7/365

And as 'bumpyroad' stated........read and buy RESALE.
Our home park with C2C & RPI cost $950. Dues are frozen for home park at $59/yr and the Deluxe (2 week) C2C costs $129/yr.
You do have to make reservations thru C2C in order to use it at majority of affiliated CGs. Each affiliated CG has their own rules/restrictions.
We pay $10-15/night C2C affiliates and $15-18/night at Good Neighbor/Encore CGs when we use our C2C.

The key is buying RESALE and then using the affiliates when possible.
We also use Passport America ($44/yr------50% off daily rate at participating CGs.
COE CGs, fairgrounds, city parks and doing monthly rates etc.

As FT'rs we stay some place every night so CGs costs are big factor as is fuel. So we get benefits from the membership.

I had it. Dropped it. A lot of the parks reserved the poorer sites for c2c members. Also often had trouble finding a site where wanted to stop. I recommend passport America.

It depends on how you use it. For us it was not a good deal. I think my membership was #178 a year. There are different plans or levels. It gives you access to many facilities but you need to buy points from C2C and schedule though them. For what I need, it's simpler to use Good Sam and Passport America.
