Thor Outlaw

I have a friend who is interested in an outlaw Class A motorhome. The 2017 model apparently has drop down rear entertainment area similar to what one would find in a toy hauler. Would he be able to get information on the history of the outlaw on this website? Model is not known other than a 38 footer.

I bought a slightly used 2016 38RE and love the huge bedroom and deck off the back. My toy is hauled on a trailer so I didnt need the garage. Been a good MH so far ... a few minor fixes but nothing major at all. Our coach had 5500 miles on it when we bought it

NOT arguing with his advice but......all things being equal, the models that you sell more of will be the models that come back more with problems. That's kind of how the math works out.

There is a Local RV Dealer where several of my friends work. One of them is a lead tech and when I told him I was looking at Class A's, the first words out of him mouth was "stay away from the Outlaws". They are a big seller at the dealership and he said he sees way more problems with them than other campers they sell. He didn't get into why he felt that way so take it for what it's worth.

I travel with several friends that have the Outlaw Class A and Class B toy haulers. They are incredible.

I don't own one, but very much like the floorplans and concept.

Check out a couple called "RV Outlawz". Google them for their website. They full time all across the US in their Outlaw 37MD and seem happy. I also follow their adventures on Instagram.

Thanks, chainwright. I emailed that to my electrician friend and suggested he visit the site.

One of the first things I recall reading about when I got my first camper was a post about Thor's main concern was getting the product out the door asap. justified or not, I've avoided their products. Getting harder and harder to do!

The Outlaw IS a toy hauler.

IF....you don't have a "toy" to haul, I don't see how it would be a good choice.....but to each his own I guess.

I recently got an '07 model, made by Damon back then and I like it well enough. It has a GM chassis so there might not be a good comparison.

if he records the Vin# there are sites where you type that in and get the history of the vehicle. Also certain RV's have Car fax. Try those sites 1st.
Now to the RV. You're talking about the Thor outlaw 38RE. I loved that coach, but my research yielded quite a few Negative reviews regarding Thor. Now don't take my word for it, I'm sure there are many people out there that don't come to this site to advertise their experience with their Thor's, hence go to various RV sites and ask your questions. Thor was in my Top 6 until I concluded my research now unfortunately they're at #10. And I ONLY consider my top 6, so no Thor for me. Anywho, Newmar, which gets VERY VERY favorable reviews and is in my top 3 (I did 3 yrs of research 5-7 hrs a day before narrowing down my top 5) Also has a model with a Rear drop down Patio, it's the Newmar Canyon Star 3924. Now it's a more Expensive than a Thor, but IT's a NEWMAR. Check it out, research it see if you can get a 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 model at a good price. Both Thor and Newmar have the F53 chassie and ford V10 triton. Hope this helps.
