Tire Question

Michelin would not give me an adjustment on my original tires. They were 61 months old. So I bought Toyo tires since then. Best move I ever made.

Michelin gave me an adjustment with 6 year old tires for cracking. Not full price of course but the allowance on the 6 tires almost paid for 1 tire.

There is a difference between a zipper crack and weather checking. Big time. I know what I'm talking about. When I posted my post he had not yet stated the age of the offending tire. Why do people get so negative against others ..?

Sun/weather cracks are NOT zipper cracks (or even close). It sounds like the OP has already found that the tire(s) are older than originally posted and I believe he is on the right track.

Take It to the Michelin dealer. Have it inspected. Replaced if necessary. Hopefully under warranty.

That's the critical big IF.

Many new tires start showing signs of "spider web" cracks on the surface after about a year.

IF they really are tiny and you have to get real close to see them.....chances are they are not indicative of a problem.

BUT....I would think that more than one would be showing this if it's inherent to the design or compound. Ask the pro's; maybe more than one.
