Tis another fine day
9/16/13 and we have been given the blessing by the doctor's to travel again! So, on 9/18/13 we are heading north out of Willis, TX bound for TN to purchase land then onto Charleston AFB to do a stint as the campground host for the winter. 130 miles into the trip there is a loud bang, a swerving car and a cloud of blue smoke. Yep, the rear inside driver side tire blew. We limped into Mt Enterprise truck stop and called Coach net. After getting some of the best service we waited for four hours for the new $762 tire and the person to do the install. Tire is on and we are ready.
DW suggested we not go to the COE Park, our destination since the arrival time would be when it's very dark. Being the hard headed person Not wanting to give up the $11 fee (Golden Age Pass cost) I said no we are moving on to the COE campground.
Sure enough, it was 0'dark thirty when we arrived and unhooked.
DW led the way to the site after a recon mission. If you are claustrophobia don't go into a wooded COE in the dark. DW led me down a dark road that had a small turn around at the end. Yep, she made a wrong turn and I followed her. Should I continue or do you have the ending? Yep, tried to turn around and since I'm a tree hugger, kissed one of the largest trees. Finally said the heck with it (ya right heck wasn't the word) and parked in an empty spot. Looked at the coach with a flashlight and discovered a water bay entry door that is now sealed shut by crunch. Called the insurance the next morning to tell them I did a dumb. They will be sending an adjuster.
I saved the $11 for the site but had to spend an additional $44 waiting for the adjuster to come look at the coach.
Don't follow my example!
And I'll bet this gets moved to another forum!
