to winnebago 35b owners (others welcome too)

We finally had a chance to look at one. Had a couple q's.

The opening to the generator is smaller than the genset. How do you service or access it if you needed to?

The master room slide did not work at the dealer. Do you have issues with slides on this model since there are 3 to contend with?

I asked the sales guys how to retract the steps if the motor gives out. He said you would have to unbolt the steps. Is this true?

Didnt have time to testdrive but that would be next depending on what you guys say.

Thanks ya'all!
  • The only service than is performed in the coach is oil/filter change and minor maintenance items. Any thing else requires the generator to be dropped and removed. Steps rarely have problems. If the failed, you could disconnect the linkage and use them. They would then have to be wired or tie wrapped to move. i have done this in a rest area. Possibly the slide didn't work because the brake might not have been set. There are problems with slides, but they really improve the livability.
  • Good info to know. Thank you!

It was just that one slide that had issues. Other two worked fine. We tried closing all slides up to check usability with all slides in When on the road or a quick oovernight stop. Passed!

    Thanks so much!
  • We bought the Itasca 35B. Have had no problems with the slides, or steps, everything is working great, grandkids love the bunkbeds and flip down dvd players with the headphones,
