I will be building a bathroom from scratch and have started researching toilets. I have had both plastic and porcelain in past RV's and I kind of prefer the porcelain. Been reading various reviews, but most of them are from several years ago and I wonder if they are outdated. In particular, the Dometic 310 had mixed reviews with some comments about about leaks that occurred in non serviceable areas of the unit. I would hope that by now those issues have been addressed by the manufacturer. Any other recommendations or reviews?

We put in a 310 two days before Christmas last year. We call it our "Christms Toilet."We love it. The unit flushes very well. No "stuff" is left behind as in other models. It also has no rim to clean under.I would buy it again.

We have had Thetford aqua magic style II which is porcelain also,it has a real heavy foot spring for water flow that has never given us any trouble!

I installed the Dometic 320 porcelain toilet because I liked the 18" height as well as the elongated bowl/seat.

I had a 310 high profile in my last TT and it was very nice. It developed a random weeping in the bowl. I attributed it to having probably picked up a small piece of crud or a grain of sand in the valve. I didn't have a filter and also noticed crud in the faucet strainers. I just installed another 310 in this rig and also installed 2 inline filters and a pressure tank. One fabric and one carbon. I like the high profile and dont feel like my knees are in my chest.

Before you actually buy one, make sure it fits. We wanted to change ours in a DP and the one we wanted to go to wouldn't work because of where the flush lever was.Bill

It's inside the bowl. Mine hasn't done it yet. Adds a bit more water to the bowl.

Since you are replacing it I'd also go with the taller model toilet and/or purchase a riser kit if buying the standard low one. Which makes it residential height instead of the low ones the MH's come with. Don't forget to adjust the plumbing behind for the added height.

We had the Thetford Aria Deluxe II with electric buttons and it failed in our 2004 RV. We replaced it with the Aria Classic about 6 weeks ago. Like it much better than the more fancy one.

Really like the Dometic 4300 series with the Macerator flush system. Gone are the days of poop mounds and blockages. I have a clear section in my dump hose which allows me to know when the tank is clean. Colored water comes through with no solids. A little rinse and clear water appears. Uses a little more water so it would not be best for dry camping.

Excellent point.
We put one in and found a cabinet door that swings over it only cleared by 1/4". That was close!

I just installed a 310 in my Allegro. It's awesome. Perfect height, good flush.

The manual says to expect some weeping of water into the bowl post-flush. Not a lot. I don't recall the explanation. Finding the manual would require me getting up from behind this PC which I really am not inclined to do. I would chalk the weeping up to "normal".
