Toilet

I have an 06 Alfa See Ya. Water running into the toilet seems to be running slower when we flush it. Do I have to pull it to check out the water valve? Or what should I check first. Water pressure seems fine in other areas of the coach.

  • Mine does not run when it is not being flushed. It just seems to run slower when we flush.
  • I just replaced my water valve this morning. Took all of about 10 minutes to do. I did notice that there is a screen in the inlet of the valve. That may be your problem. The seal on mine would drip when it was flushed.

??:Water running into the toilet seems to be running slower when we flush it.: how fast does it run in when your not flushing it?

Not sure what kind of toilet that you have but on ours we can fill up the bowl by pulling the foot lever UP, which causes the water to run in to the bowl without flushing the toilet.
One toilet we had in the past also allowed us to fill the bowl, by only pushing the foot lever partially down. Again, fill the bowl with water without flushing the contents.
If either one of these is the situation, I would guess that you have some debris in the flush valve that is restricting the water flow.
  • I had a clogged valve at the toilet. Was an easy fix on my Dometic, removed supply line then valve popped out of housing and cleaned out debris. Mine was an easy fix and I hope your is also!
  • Depending on Brand/Model of toilet and the available space to work in......the water valve assembly can or may not be replaced with toilet in place.

The water valve is clogged up....debris, scale, failing etc.

Go to mfg. website (thetford, dometic) and look at the exploded view of your toilet. Get a new one or you can remove old and try to unclog it.
  • My opinion would be there is something to the valve, or there is some kind of cutoff valve halfway closed (somewhere).
