Towing a 2000 Subaru Outback

Subaru manual transmissions ARE towable 4 wheels down.

No problem.

We used to tow a 99. Now tow a 2008. Just put it in neutral and put the key in the accessory position and off you go.

I removed my steering wheel lock on the Subie so I wouldn't have to leave keys in it. I have pulled an 07 for about 15000 miles without any issues.

On a related topic, I wired the yellow signal lights on the Subie to blink on turn instead of the standard trailer scheme to blink the reds. Other drivers responded better giving me space to change lanes once I made the wiring modification.
