They certainly could have made one if I had asked. :) I didn't want a permanent installation since we don't take our cat with us every trip. Advanced RV has made permanent built in dog kennels and cat litter boxes for customers. They have quite a portfolio of custom installations.

We have a few different litter boxes. I wanted an enclosed one like I showed and I designed the opening for our largest one to just fit under the bed and out of the way. We have hanging black strips that normally conceal it from view that I pushed out of the way for the photo. The opening does double duty. I can shove stuff out of the way from inside the van and I can use it for hauling and go to Home Depot and buy long 2s4s that will slide in nicely. Seems I am always buying boards.

Cat probably doesn't much care whether the crate is in the back seat of a truck or the back of the van. You just need to figure out where you want to put the litter box.

You are already way ahead, the cat has adjusted to travel, has identified a territory that moves around within a larger realm. Cats tend to be territorial, some do not adjust to moving, or to such a small space. I think yours will be OK once the whole van becomes identified as the cat's realm.

The adjustment is more yours than the cat's. The cat will own the van. You just have to figure out where you want to put the litter box.

We travel with a cat and she roams free in the van. Off limits while driving is the driver and the dashboard. Most of the time she lies on the floor between the two cab seats or lap sits with the passenger. When stopped she always heads to the back under the beds and hides. Most of the B owners I know with cats pretty much allow them to be loose and not penned in a crate. There have been various methods for handling cat litter. Some have used special cutouts in the wardrobe closet. We specifically designed ours this way in the back under the beds.

I travel with 4 cats sometimes, though not in a RT, but a TT. This book was a real help (no affiliation):

The 210 P has a nice spot under the rear seat , it is a plastic lined floor compartment that would make a nice litter box...if I was bringing my one cat I would section off that entire area under the rear bench seat for the cat. You can make up for the lost space with a swingaway cargo box off the rear...That's one option, if we bring our animals there comfort must always be a priority....
