Upgrading Entertainment system

I have recently redone my Entertainment system. I added bluray players, a new Yamaha receiver in place of the old DVD/VHS/ receiver combo, 3 new flat screens. I got a new Winegard Anser SAT and 2 vip211k Dish boxes and an Igowireless HDMI kit. Everything is working great.

I just rewired alot yesterday adding HDMI cables and striping and reconnecting speaker wires. I did not pull HDMI cables through the coach so still have existing coax going to outside and bedroom TV. So only one thing left to figure out.

How can I wire the Carryout Anser Satellite dish to work with my RV set up? I only need it to work 2 dish receiver boxes but don't want to run cables through my windows. I would also like it to work with my switcher box. I tried connecting it to my external SAT hook up and it will work if then hooked directly to Dish box but not if it goes through the switcher. The Anser does have an extra coax output for a 2nd box but I don't want extra wires or to run one through my windows. The wireless HDMIis great to get Main tv picture to outside tv but would love to have a Dish box to watch different channels on Bedroom TV.

Is there a splitter that would work? Winegard says it needs a direct coax connection to the receiver box but I can connect it to exterior SAT input which runs to a box near main tv. Then that goes to the Dish box directly and works fine. But for bedroom tv I would have to go through the window.

  • It won't work as you wish using your existing splitter.

For a dual tuner setup, you either need to run the second coax off the dish, thru a rear window or other possible option (in ours, it would probably be possible to fish coax down to the bottom on that bedroom slide, and put in a screw connection that was accessible when the slide was open. Possible, but not easy)

Second option would be to get a switch from dish, and put that in your overhead where all the video stuff is. You can use that to feed the coax going to the rear TV (NOT thru the winegard box!) This will only work well if your coach is wired with RG6 cable.

We use a singgle reciever (we all have to watch the same channel) and it works well using the wineguard switch and the monaco external sat in hookup.
