US Warranity Corporation vs Wholesale Warranities

Talked to our dealer about allowing the inspector to check out the motor home the day of closing. He, of coarse, wants us to buy his offering. I had him send me info - which he did- and I have been trying to find more info. I did find a thread with some positive responses and the BBB gave an A+ rating but there seemed a thread through the complaints (few dealt with RVs).

Can anyone give any more insight on these companies? What the dealer is offering is cheaper in price but will it be cheaper in the long run?
In addition, the dealer's is a listed component and the Wholesale is exclusionary. The dealer insists that his will cover just as much.

Any help will be a plus. Thank you in advance.
  • Wholesale is exclusionary...that's the clincher...that's what you want...this way if it not mentioned in contract, you are covered...I had first hand experience with wholesale warranty after I purchased a contract through them at DW's insistence...I suffered a major failure with the LCI leveling/hydraulic slides and the motor was toast...Wholesale Warranty jumped in and made sure I was covered and stood behind what they sold....nothing but accolades for Jeff Shelton...hope this helps you.
  • Remember that you can negotiate the price on Extended Warranties. If you're buying from the dealer, try having him throw in the warranty to make the deal...or at least discount it. If you're buying from Wholesale you can try getting a discount too.........make em an offer.....doesn't hurt.

    Listen to this!....X2....Dennis

    Exclusionary means "if it's NOT listed, it's covered....no surprises..D
  • OH THANKS again for responses. We are leaning towards the Wholesale Warranties. Have been looking at Good Sam and Easycare as well. My brain has turned to mush looking at BBB reports, rv forums, and trying to find user complaints and likes. The one the dealer is offering has so very little info to find - I found positive things said from two rvers on a different site; no bad things yet it seems everything is kinda "shadowy". I can't even tell if they are backed by an insurance company, investment group or self-insured.

Just trying not to repeat the mistakes of the past:)
  • I started dealing with the guys (and gals) at WholesaleWarranties years ago. When I had a claim they stepped in and acted like an agent, helping me process the claim, checking on the progress and making sure I was satisfied. I'd go with them.
  • - you don't owe anything to the dealer- they will try as hard as they can to get you buy their warranty. just tell them no. I didn't purchase one when got ours but at one point stood up and said ask one more time and I will walk out.
F/I guy stopped asking and I never saw the salesman again. LOL
  • If and when you decide on a warranty, do not buy it thru the dealer as they'll mark it up to benefit them. Call Wholesale Warranties directly with the coach's info and set a price with them directly.
  • alright, I don't have much experience with these contracts but doesn't this wording make an exclusionary a stated component?

**Any items not listed or included under the “What Is Covered” section of the specific plan You selected on the front of this Agreement. Incidental or consequential
damages or loss caused by breakdown of components (or otherwise) including property damage, personal injury, inconvenience, loss of Vehicle use, damage to a covered
part by a non-covered part and damage to a non-covered part by a covered part.

    >>>>PLAN B EXCLUSIONARY COVERAGE- NEW VEHICLES ONLY
Plan B Exclusionary Coverage provides all the Plan A and Upgrade Options coverage listed above
and also provides coverage for repair/replacement of ALL factory-installed original mechanical equipment
on the Covered Vehicle except those items listed under "What Is Not Covered" below.<<<<

There is a change to the contract later that amends the above to cover our used rv but doesn't this simply become a fancy way of doing a stated component because of the language included in the what is not covered section????

A comparison of similar coverage shows this (picked because it was short):

    WASTE SYSTEM
    -
Toilet vacuum breaker, float assembly, ball valve, slide valve, the
water inlet valve, the holding tank, and their traps, fittings, connections, and gate valves

    VERSUS THIS

    ASTE SYSTEM COMPONENTS:
    ball valves, fittings, gate valves,
holding tanks, knife valves, manual mechanical toilet, PVC piping,
slide valves and the water inlet valves.

Where are those red velvet cakes someone asked about????
  • A great big thank you to all who responded. We are going with Wholesale Warranties, an exclusionary policy. There should be an independent inspector sent by the company to inspect the motor-home which will be done at the dealer. This should mean an extra set of eyes (trained eyes!) to spot any deficiencies before the deal is complete.

Here is to hoping that the unseen/untested parts are as great as what we have seen.
