Anything like this?
Came up on the FTE (Ford Truck Enthusiasts) Forum
This is the search I ran in gOOgle:
"ford belt diagram 1986"
We had a 1983 E350/460 with "Dealer Air" on it and the diagram above looked NOTHING like what we had. Nor did it look like what you're describing. What we had was:
Pair of Belts Crankshaft/Water Pump/Power Steering
Single Belt Crankshaft/Alternator
Single Belt Alternator/SINGLE SMOG Pump
Single Belt Crankshaft Add-On Pulley/Adjustable Idler/A-C Compressor
The A-C Belt was a wider series. I believe "9000" series, and the other four were narrower "7000" series.
This probably isn't much help, but I wanted to share what I learned about belts with all this. We had a breakdown on the road and limped into a chain store auto supply. Bought a whole set of replacement belts in their cheap store brand. We kept the RV for 10 years and I never changed the dual belt setup again. BUT: It simply ate A-C belts, like a belt per two short local camping trips, till I went with a front-line brand for that. Gates, Dayco, NAPA, etc. I still had to change them but at a reasonable interval. Also, the Alternator had a very small dual pulley on it and it also wore belts pretty fast. I went to name brand for that too. Still have an alternator, the smaller one Ford offered, 60A, if somebody needs one. It's reconditioned with bearings, brushes and diode bank.
Oh, I'm certain there was NO belt diagram on/in/under the hood or fan shroud. I don't think diagrams became common till serpentine belts.
