We just joined the Class A/Motorhome world!

2003 Forest River Windsong 325. Here's the link to it:
Forest River

It's not the V10 as the website states.. It has the workhorse 8.1L w/Allison Tranny. 14k miles, one owner! Basically, after doing the inspection, this is what we have in writing in the purchase agreement:

-rear cap has some cracking in the paint/fiberglass. They are getting is redone via a body shop.
-Will verify and document all TSB's are completed.
-Will take to RV/Truck mechanic for the following work:
complete Lube/Oil/Filter(engine/tranny/genny), front brake inspection(per what I've read abt the 8.1 chassis), also a complete roof inspection(all I've seen is the roof is in perfect shape.) Also service/inspect the slides and slide seals.
-Complete inspection, certification on both AC units and dash AC by a AC mechanic. (All blow very cold)
-New motor for the electric steps.
-Two new group 27(I think) Interstate House Batteries.

The Truck/RV Mechanic I trust a lot and will be thorough. They do all of the fleet work on our company trucks.

I spent extra and got a 5 yr warranty with Phoenix American that covers the major components.

Everything is in really good shape, incredibly clean. We don't take delivery until the 26th, so everything will have a complete follow up inspection as well. Does anyone have a good checklist to reference?

Can't wait to get on the road for the first trip!

Enter the VIN on the Workhorse website to see if the brake recall was done. I know it involved W22 chassis and I think the W20. It involved replacing the 4 brake calipers to eliminate the brake problems of hanging up. I have experienced brake problems on both a Ford and WH chassis so it isn't just one maker. Brake fluid will absorb moisture and this is what causes problems in the systems. I flush my brake fluid every 2 years since my '89 Ford had a problem. PM me if you have any questions on that point. You have the best chassis I have ever had in any of my RVs in 44 years of RVing.

The one at this link saved a friend of mine from making a very expensive mistake.

But you have to stick to the list and not get all carried away by the heat/enthusiasm of the moment...

Good luck!

Very nice! Don't forget about a tire check. Read the date of mfg. on the tire and if older than 7 yr. they should be replaced. You're sure to have lots of fun with it!!
