water leak

What does one do? I have been fighting water leaks for about 3 month I had though I took care for re-ceiling everything on the roof. I took every cover off and receiled it. I still have to get up there and find the leak but now the damage is done on the inside. To the point of black mold in 2 or 3 places.I can get ride of the mold I can see what can I do about the mold o don't see like if it ran down the wall or someplace.
THANKS SO MUCH FOR WHAT YOU ALL DO!.
  • Make sure that the seal around the roof air conditioner is tight. They are notorious for leaking.
  • Please help! I to had a leaky roof in my 5th wheel working on that got through ceiling
Ironically leaked in toilet and other place I can smell mold badly and deathly alergic how can I fix this can't see the mold must be in the wood ceiling want to pour gallon of bleach on roof what can I do ? Also does anyone know where to get cheap parts for a Terry?
  • I did all my seams on my TC with eternabond. Then dicor caulked the edges. I didn't have any leaks but wanted to be sure. It has only seen one summer with some massive rains but looks like it will last longer than me. I also went over the sides with that grey putty can't remember the name and filled any possible point of entry and around all marker lights with dicor caulk.
  • I used to get up on top of my coach at least once a year and I used to caulk with Dicor. As I have gotten older it has become dangerous for me to be doing this. One slip and if you fall from the top from almost thirteen feet, you are dead. So about three years ago I decided to Eternabond every seam on the roof because I did not want to be caulking every year. I bought the four inch rolls of Eternabond through Amazon and done the whole roof. Best investment I have made on my coach since I bought it new.

Sometimes a water leak on the roof can be hard to track down because the water leak might be in the front, but will travel between the roof and come out somewhere else. Kind of like electricity will come out where there is less resistance.

It took me a few years to believe people that were already using this stuff and as to how good it really was. Believe me they were right.
  • Have your Unit pressurized and tested for leaks before fixing interior. (The leaks will show bubbles during the test)
Camping World and many other repair facilities have this equipment.
    Been there and done that!
  • Had water leak also,
after redoing the all the seals like you
finally found the problem, a screw used to attach the slide out topper near the rain gutter had broken/come out
sealed and replace the screw leak was fixed

Try sealing every seam, around all vents, antenna, front/rear cap everything with eternabond tape. We did a couple of years ago just as a preventive measure after the refrigerator vent leaked. Another common leak is around the running lights, and the AC units. Good luck as we know how frustrating it can be trying to track the leaks down.

And don't forget around windows and doors...........

    Good luck!
  • X2 on Eternabond. You will never have to worry about anymore leaks. You can order the rolls of tape through Amazon.
