We've come full circle back to a "C"

Sounds like plenty of fun, enjoy every moment!

We had a 26ft Solera C for 4 years. It was nice and got lots of use. The people we sold it to in 2018 still travel all over in it and love it. We only opted to go truck camper because of the cab noise while traveling at speed. So far we are not regretting it except when traveling and we need to use the bathroom and the weather is bad.
We still look at small C campers every time near a dealer. Never know when we might move back.

I agree 100% on your coments about your "Mother Lode" small Class C!!

We bought our 24 ft. E450 non-slide Class C new in 2006 and have been across the U.S. twice in it, as well as traveled extensively in the Western U.S. with it.

We can camp in a variety of places with it in complete comfort: Boondock dry camping, non-boondock dry camping, commercial campground full hookup camping, city parking lot dry camping, etc.. It's rear corner bed is even so comfortable that the DW (she has a bad back) often sleeps in it while it's parked between trips in our backyard!

Our two most challenging places to visit with it were a remote place in the Texas Panhandle during the summer, and off a remote 4X4 road in Death Valley.

We find it an excellent compromise among the Class A/B/B+/C, TC, TT and 5'er RV choices. We do not tow, as we can usually park close enough to visit most areas of interest to us. We like our little home close to us everywhere when traveling for maximum comfort, convenience, flexibility and minimum hassle.

Years ago, we started tent camping with the kids. Than,
bought an Arctic Fox 5'er w/bunks and pretty much camped the W. coast sometimes w/kids-sometimes without. Kids grew up-we bought a larger Arctic Fox 5'vr and took it on trips-So. Ca. to Yukon Terr., Etc. Now we are seniors and have a 25ft. Class C w/Chevy 450 chassis and V-8 gas engine. We can just take the C for out for an afternoon, for a weekend, or for a trip and now my wife will drive. Has made camping a lot more enjoyable and easier for both of us.

Actually - what I meant by "Mother Lode" was a dealer with a GOB of small Class Cs on the lot!! I had been searching for about 2 months, and just about everyone near us had one or two units for sale (and more on order). Of course when a dealer only has a couple of units on the lot, they are less inclined to be negotiable about the price :-(

Opted for the 23u model with the barrel chair and larger cargo hold. Replaced the corner bed mattress with a memory foam piece from walmart (thanks Ron for the tip)
Had em all too, pop up camper on a diesel 4x4, trailer, 5th wheel, 40 ft diesel toyhauler.. we are riders (especially me)

The small c is just so flexible. I can tow a jeep, hang a dual sport of back of it for long trips with family, carry a bike up front for ride trips with the boy, or just 1 bike off back reinforced hitch rack for me riding alone or with friends, Carries our stout inflatable kayaks as well.

We took it to Alaska for 2 months and change. Surprised how stout this is. Nothing broke of any consequence except a ba house battery after all those bad roads, mud, dust, dirt, pot holes, rain. Prior to this trip I had a low impression of its quality. Nope, quality is there where you need it. Very convenient size. Occasionally think about going to a larger size but no, this is so convenient and flaxible.
