- Gale_HawkinsExplorerI am finding success in dealing with the local Interstate distributor. Picked up an 86.6 pound battery for the 265 MF tractor this morning. I had picked up one Thursday evening from a local tractor supply place but when I looking inside there was white build up on the top edge of the plates and dividers. This Exide was built in May 2013 but the Interstate was built in Aug 2013.
- twainharteartisExplorerThe charging system is working fine when I drive the rig the engine battery takes a charge and holds the charge for a few days. I know that the batteries are the problem or I think they are. I will take them out and test them. Thank everyone for your taking the time to answer my questions.

Sounds like you also have a problem with your vehicle charging system or the starting battery itself.
the battery to start the engine runs down after about a week or two and I have to jump it. I can't find anything left on to draw it down. also the lights are not as bright when the gen is not running.
You bought an old rig with, most likely, shot batteries. Not unusual. - tropical36Explorer

I need to replace the house battery's on my Class A. Is there better battery's for house battery's or can you use standard car/truck battery's? The rig is 35ft has two roof A/C units a slideout if that make a differents.
Sounds like two 6volt golf cart batteries, connected in series, will do the job and be the best bang for the buck, especially at Sam's Club or Cosco's. You don't say about your space, but some also have two sets of the above and then with these two banks connected in parallel for a total of 12vdc. - twainharteartisExplorer

Since your batteries are under your steps you may be limited by space what batteries you may use. What do you currently have 6 or 12 volt and how many?
I have two 12 volts. I well be removing them and the 12volt for starting the engine and take them to AutoZone and have them tested. - topflite51ExplorerSince your batteries are under your steps you may be limited by space what batteries you may use. - traveylinExplorerParasitic uses installed with your monitoring equipment will run don your batteries if not kept on a trickle or maintenance charge. A solution to improving overall hours of capacity is to swap out to led's for lighting wherever possible. They use remarkably less power.

My engine battery will run down in two weeks or less so I disconnect it when we're not traveling.
The lights getting brighter when the generator is on is normal.
I'm curious about the refrigerator though. Is it running on propane?
When I put the frig on LP that's when after a few hours the alarm will come on. My motorcycle can sit for two months and the charge is still good. I pulled the engine battery out and charged it reinstalled it and two weeks later I had to jump start it. - CG_DawsonExplorerAnd another vote for Trojan. I'm afraid to say this, but my two Trojan 105s are 11 years old. What else can I say?
