What is the roof material?

I am considering buying a 2008 Jamboree sport. I can not determine from Fleetwood's website what the roof material was in 2008. Couple questions:
1. What is the material?
2. Is the material covered by any type warrenty to a second owner?
3. Should I be concerned about a 5 year old roof? (The unit has been stored outside in the LA area of Ca.)
4. What should I look for as to possible problems?

My old 1988 5th wheel has a metal roof, as does my 2005 slide in camper, so the plastic/rubber deal is new to me.
Thanks!!
  • Hello All,
I also have a 2006 Fleetwood Jamboree 24D and it has what they call a TUFF-PLY UV resistant roof, no clue what that means exactly, but when I bought it the salesman said it was better than a rubber roof?????

  • My 2006 Fleetwood Tioga has a rubber roof BUT it is not TPO it is a EPDM ( Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer ) and I think from this time forward they put it on instead of TPO.

I have the warranty card for it and it is a 12 year Limited Warranty But the first 2 years is 100% for labor with 80% on the first 3 years, then goes down from there.

Very small print ha... it says that it is non transferable from original purchaser.

Mine has been outside in So Cal for 7 years and shows no sign of age, it looks like new.

I have been told with proper maintenance they will last 20 years or more.
  • When I was looking at this brand in 2003 the brochure said it was TPO. TPO stands for thermoplastic polyolefin and is a type of synthetic material often used in the construction of commercial and even some RV roofs.

Go up on the roof. I am betting it's rubber of some kind if it's a Fleetwood. There are a number of kinds of rubber roofs, and then there's not rubber. Non rubber roofs cost more....there is a reason.
