Start with the easy stuff...
1. Use the generator..does everything work?
2. Using a meter, check your shore power. Even though you've used it in the past, it may be having issues now. Rule that out.
3. You said the batteries were newish...check them too. Both for charge, water and if possible, use a hydrometer and check the specific gravity in the batteries.
