What kind of electrical problem do I have?

I have a 20001 HR Scepter that is plugged at home in a 30A outlet, the same outlet I've had for years.
Today, while plugged, I started to lose power inside the RV for a few seconds up to maybe 45 seconds at time. Then everything would be good for another 15 minutes or another couple hours then it would happen again.
While this situation occurs, the items plugged in outlets wired to the inverter (like the microwave) will still function but everything else will be off.

What am i dealing with? Is it something that can be traced to the transfer switch?

My house batteries are new from last month.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

as earlier quoted, be specific in what worked and what did not. You did say 12 volts items did not this would mean battery issues (not charging or being charged).

You said items connected to the inverter seem to be ok, but other items no. What other items. So the inverter could have come on, because you are having AC / shore power problems. Do you have separate house / inverter battery bank?

Besides checking the battery terminals follow the battery return cable to where ever it is connected to the chassis frame. Check for clean shinny metal and a tight connection there also. A bad ground will cause strange things to happen.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will be checking those.
Also, I should add, when I lose power, I also lose the 12V. My ceiling lights, radio, etc all go off. All I'm left with are the things that are plugged on the inverter.

I vote for bad connection (loose or corrosion) in the battery circuit. Always check the last thing changed, in this case the batteries. They may have been changed, and are just now running out of juice.

check the converter for 12vdc output.

Do you have any type of energy management system or surge protector?
Open the breaker panel until the wires are exposed. Inspect for heat or burnt areas.
Yes pull the cover off the transfer switch and again check for burnt items.
I assume it is just 120 volt power you are losing or do the 12v lights go out also?
May as well check the battery voltage. s/b ~13.6 when power is on.

Start with the easy stuff...

1. Use the generator..does everything work?
2. Using a meter, check your shore power. Even though you've used it in the past, it may be having issues now. Rule that out.
3. You said the batteries were newish...check them too. Both for charge, water and if possible, use a hydrometer and check the specific gravity in the batteries.

On the hydrometer you should read at least 500!
