What's your Suggested yearly Maintenance/Repair fund/budget?

As long as you have direct access to $10,000 to $20,000 in cash, without putting you in to bankruptcy, than you should be able to handle any unexpected items that may come up when you are RVing.

I have never had a budget, too many variables.

My silly method is to be prepared to spend whatever is necessary for my motor home, aircraft, cars and home to run as designed and what is safe.

I understand that the following remark will seem really stupid but I talk to my motor home and airplane. I tell them that I will do whatever they need and want, and in return I want them to keep me and mine safe.

$20K??? Lots of us don't have that much annual income!! Wait till SS comes in, fix what we can, wait for the next check.

I doubt anyone could give you a defined answer because of age of RV;;size of Rv;; engine type;; chassis Type and miles travelled per year and number of days the RV gets used
One small example is I only go 4K miles per year;MH takes 26 quarts of oil and large filter Cost$150 and I do it myself every 3 years
so again example cost me $50 per year;; some people change every year so there cost $150 and if U get a shop around $300
its really hard because everyones circumstance and ideas are different;
In the last 7 years I looked at all my maintenance costs; tires replaced;all battery,s; toilet seals;; air brake filter; engine air filter ;wiper blades; Cummins regen and computer updates; windshield removed and resealed ;gen set service(once) hardly use it ; aquahot
service (once) and I spent around $8300 or $1185 per year

I budget $500/mo...$300 for yearly oil change, fuel filters, lube etc. Anywhere from $1k to 3K/yr for "incidentals". (Tires, 8 - good for 7 years. 8X$700=$5600/7=$800/yr.) (Batteries -8 (2 12VDC 6 6VDC) good for 5 yrs. 2X200=$400/5=$80/yr, 6X90=$540/5=$108) You get the idea.......Dennis

Over the last six years we have averaged a little over $817/ year on scheduled maintenance for our DP. I don't do any of it but pay someone else to do it all. It varies quite a bit from year to year from 1,573 the first year when we had everything done after buying the coach used to around 535 on years when little gets done but oil, gas/oil filters, lube and maybe a hose or belt. These numbers also include scheduled maintenance on the diesel generator. The transmission fluid and filter changes itself adds about 430 to the usual numbers.

$5K give or take. I'm still catching up on deferred Mx from that last owner. I work it like a federal agency. If I don't spend $5k by time winter comes, I do one of my "nice to have" projects. Last spring I did one anyway (solar and battery upgrade).

So total for last year was $1k for a new couch and flooring, $4k for suspension maintenance and $2k for new batteries (all six), another 100 watts of solar and a 40 amp Grape controller.

This year it looks like I'll get off cheap with just and oil and filter change.

You have two major variables that you need to "fill in" for us to even make WAG:

Gas/Diesel

Do your own work (so only paying for parts)/You pay to have everything done (everything at retail)
