I need to attach a photo to this message, got some weird tool with my new RV. I have no idea what it is.

Hope the links worked.

Help.

yup, two lock arms. I had to use the tool for the less accessible locations. I can't get my arm in enough to engage the rear on any of the driver's side slides.

Additionally I think someone tried to open the front driver's slide while the rear bar was engaged. Seems a bit misshapen. I was able to get it to engage though.

The rear kitchen latch is too easy to engage, might need to ask Newmar if there's a way to make it tighter.

Those two pieces would also be helpful when installing serpentine belts on today's sidewinder engines.

The bedroom latch is a bit tricky. Are those locks only on one side of the slide, or both? If both, I can see using this for some narrow access on my rig.

Each slide has 2 lock arms. Front and Rear. Doug

Maybe they set it up so elderly users (who might have upper arm strength issues) can operate the lock.

It did help me loop around and get my seat belts for the couch from under it. I thought "they built a tool for THAT????"

Yes, it is for people that do not have the upper body strength to lift the arms in the lock position. Also, some of the slide room designs have NO access to get your arm into the side to lift the lock arms, so you have to use the tool. Doug

And it can double as an "out back" tp holder.

You mean when I have the slides in, correct? If that's the case, yes, I do lock the arms.

For what it's worth, the dealer did not explain the tool to me, but they did a thorough job of the remainder of the demonstration. Still have a ton to learn and some ideas for modifications.

Thanks for all the help guys. Yeah, Newmar. I just put this in the storage bays. Hopefully I'll never need it.

Thought it was something you had to be an adult to operate....??

You DO lock the arms? They require locking to get a weather tight seal on the top of the slide room. Doug

good call doug it even says newmar on the back up camera screen in the picture

And OPs signature states 2018 Newmar Baystar 3414

I thought Newmar would give better/informative PDI's

The Newmar owners manual states to use the Tool, it just does not describe it. The DEALER is responsible for explaining what that tool does and how to use it. NOT Newmar's fault. Doug
