By V brace I mean two tubes (could be 1 1/2" pipe or 2" angle iron) that run from the center of the hitch forward to the rails 3-4' forward of where the current hitch attaches to the rails forming a V when looking forward. This will help with the push/pull from the vehicle so the current hitch is not taking all of the force. The 25 lbs of weight from the tow bar is a non issue and the reason the 5K when properly braced is all you need.
