In those rare RV parks with decent WiFi, we use the "WiFi as WAN" feature of our Pepwave Surf On-The-Go repeater/router with a cell hotspot tethered to it as a failover connection. Most of the time, we just use the hotspot connected to it it.
I do exactly the same thing with a Pepwave Surf SOHO. Works great. - Bill_SatelliteExplorer II

I bought one from Best Buy....they won't work if the wifi requires authentication
I must assume that you mean yours won't. Mine will and most should allow you to connect to any WiFi network as long as you know the password. - usersmanualExplorerthey also have cell phones if they are over the age of 9...
LOL maybe the age of 4 now - FlintlockCGExplorerAs a park owner, this is an interesting thread and from experience I can tell you that providing good bandwidth over a large geographical area is both difficult and expensive. We hired a fellow who had designed the wifi system for a large university campus and I think our system is top tier. However we know that we will have to continue to spend because bandwidth need is only going to expand.
One example; we are a 100 site park and on a weekend recently we had 400 devices connected at one time. Think about it; 2 people per site with 2 cell phones, 1 or 2 laptops or ipads and maybe a roku or appletv for streaming. And if they have kids, they also have cell phones if they are over the age of 9...
Some parks just hang out a wireless router; that is not going to cut it IMO. - hankoExplorer

Even if you got a perfect signal from the AP it still doesn't mean you'll be happy. Most park systems are over utilized and have huge backhaul issues. And there are many of us who abuse the bandwidth by trying to stream video to multiple tv's and computers. Get a Verizon MiFi device and be happy!
yes that's exactly what I was trying to say you can have all the signal in the world but if the bandwidth or whatever is poor or overloaded your not going to get good wifi
this is what I find happens most of the time at RV resorts. good signal saturated system. To many people streaming videos and or movies. I use my phone as a Hot Spot and eliminates all that, great internet - Gone_fishing1ExplorerThanks for all of the info. It is going to take me awhile to wade through all it.

I've used this This and it's worked great for me watch the video and it will explain better than I can
I set this up in my coach as well. It cost less than $100 and does an excellent job. There are 2 antennas available and I got the cheaper one. However, for the small price difference I would recommend you get the bigger one unless space is an issue.
