Windshield leak

Last trip we drove in rain all day. By afternoon a small amount of water was running down the inside center area our front windshield. We have a 2011 HR with single windshield. I carried the MH to a glass shop this week and the shop manager said he did not think the water was coming in at the top of the windshield because the water would have run to the side before running dawn. He did not look at the seal. He suggested the cause could be the top marker lights or the roof. Anyone else had this problem? Any thoughts on the source of the water?
  • I chased a leak last year and it was the windshield. It would leak when sitting but not when driving. After the AK trip and broken windshield, I had it replaced at Winnebago. All good now.
  • If you are very careful and neat, you can seal with clear silicone.
  • Yes, the foam gasket gave up. The lights were also installed on a slightly curved portion of the coach.
I sealed the lights to the coach with Dicor lap sealant.
  • The marker lights do have a habit of leaking. I changed all of mine to sealed LED lights that were the same size. These could easily be sealed on the rear so they do not leak.
The older, incandescent, marker lights have a removable lens that sometimes allows water to migrate behind the lens and then leak behind the light and into your coach.
