Winnebago Suncruiser slide issue

Well my coach is nearly one year old. First slide issue on large slide. Power gear. The rear brake on the slide motor froze. We could not get it to release no matter what we tried. Finally took it apart and loosened and brought slide in and then reinstalled. Will take to dealer but at least can now drive. It had sat for two months and my fault I did not bring in the slides as it was at my cottage and other commitments caused me not to get there as soon as expected. Under warranty but frustrating. A great truck mechanic worked his butt off to get it in. It would not release so we could not hand crank. It is 38Q.
  • Mine has the new version and the Swintek with the new gear strip seems to work well. This is the power gear with two rails and two motors. The brake locked up and would not release until we disassembled the motor. This is a big slide that settles down to floor level. A locked up brake seems strange.
  • and thought Winnebago was one the better RVs. Guess they are all going to cheaper components.
  • Call Winnebago. They are totally covering these repairs, in or out of warranty. We had our 2014 suncruiser repaired last March. It took le Mesa in Florida about 2 days. It's been fine since then.
    Good luck
  • Good Luck Bob with your slides. I've been hearing about a lot of slide out trouble on different RV posts with Lippert Slides that Winnebago has been using.
