? Winnebago Surprise & Question

I find it puzzling, and difficult to accept that Winnebago would ship out a new Coach with a " hole " in the media center location rather than having installed a complete product. Instead, I would guess that the dealer robbed the coach for a repair on another...... I just wouldn't trust what your sales staff says but would want confirmation on this from Winnebago, directly.

Humm, I have to agree that delivery with a empty hole usually isn't what is seen. Did you check the actual brochure from Winnebago to see if a DVD was standard equipment?

I don’t believe your report is accurate.

Are you positive the DVD player is NOT the Dash Radio? A LOT of B and C body's and smaller Class A's use the Dash Radio/DVD/GPS as the whole coach player. Doug

I have no relation to Winne. But what does get me going is a post like this. Did you TALK to the Dealer? To VERIFY what you claim? Or just use your own ignorance to post this? If you had stated you talked to Winne or the Dealer and they stated you must get your own DVD player, then your post has merit. But if so, you would have to list which models out of over 20 Winne models. Doug

Scratching my head why this is an issue. Any dealer worth his salt would pony up for a $50 DVD player to make a deal. And if you can request what equipment you want, not sure what the problem is. I haven't seen ANY complaints on here about Winnie not providing any entertainment equipment. Did you ask?

Normally when I see am item missing like this it is because the dealership needed one for another rig and cannibalized the part.

some minor part was missing on my rv and they ordered a replacement. wanted to cannibalize one on the lot and they said they couldn't since they didn't own the ones on the lot. in effect they would be stealing stuff from a rv owned by the bank?????????

reminds me of years back when I was looking at Bs in baltimore, the ones on the lot all had signs saying "no TV". too many stolen to leave in units. :)

This is true. Dealers do NOT own the NEW units they have for sale. The Finance(Floorplan) company owns those units and it is against the Finance policy to ROB parts. Get caught doing that and you risk losing your Floorplan company. Especially after the 2006/08 meltdown. It is actually cheaper for the dealer to Overnight the needed parts, rather than pay a technician to rob the part install and then go back and install new part on robbed unit. Doug
