My Winnebago Class A Vista's radio display rear/side view cameras was so useless I bought a separate small monitor on eBay that I was able to actually aim at me so it was usable. The display was only about $40 dollars. The radio aimed straight back making the screen nothing but glare.
That brings up another concern of mine that I am trying not to get too excited about. In my '09 Navion, the display for the camera is mounted where the rear view mirror would be. Very nice, serving as rear view when driving and a backup monitor that allowed me to park within an inch of any obstacle or wall. The screen was adjustable to suit the driver. With radio monitor screens pointed straight back, I do not see this as a step forward. Glare and poor contrast. This is a similar problem in just about every car that has an integrated backup camera attached to the radio. Many LCD screens are notorious for poor off axis viewing.
