I need to replace house batteries. What kind recommended. Would prefer battery not needing water check. Thanks john the unit is a Winnebago view...

I put the Progressive Dynamics 4600 series unit in mine maybe 5 months back. Yesterday I inspected the battery and every cell had a water level below the top of the plates. I had to add over a quart of water. Was very surprised at the loss of water. Will need to check every 3 months now.

I leave the camper plugged in all the time. Maybe something is wrong with the charger.

I did a battery charging system up grade several years ago. And the need to add water to the batteries went down dramatically. I only add water about once a year now and even then they don't take much.

Have been using a pair of DieHard Platinum Marine/RV AGM batteries for a couple of years with no issues. They occasionally have some good sales on them but just checked and they are full priced right now.

You will always need to check water if you got with flooded wet cells.

If you go wet/flooded, get 6 volt golf cart batteries from Costco or Wally world. Lots of 12 volt batteries aren't truly deep cycle.....they are a hybrid.

To make batteries work/last better change over to a Progressive Dynamics converter. The one that came with the RV sucks.

If you want to go hard core and not check water, you need to get AGMs. It will cost you a tick over $300 per battery for 6 volt deep cycle Lifelines which is what I have after getting rid of the OE ones.

Second vote for Interstate.

I have also used the in-house Walmart battery for a deep cycle application before and it lasted quite a while.
