After going over inside and outside physical looks at everything, start the generator( if equipped) and check all electrical plugs, switches, lights, a/c, and furnace ( propane on) , stove and oven. TV, DVDs, etc. , Refrigerator operation on both gas and a/c.
Run down levelers( if equipped) and then open slide(s), check them outside , and close up.
Go up on roof, look at all caulked seams, add water to tank, turn on Hot water tank, run all faucets, toilets, and check shower and drains. Walking around floor, look for irregular staining or soft subfloor ing especially near toilet and shower area.
Shut down generator and plug into shore power( even if only 15 amp) and see how basic things work with regular current.( No A/C on low amperage). Lastly, I would pull the caps on the coach battery (s) check water level, and touch with a multimeter to see charged voltage.
If this all seems to obvious , I apologize, but I hope that you will have many years of trouble free fun and safe travels, from your friends out East!
ALL of this is great! Also check the main truck engine, battery, and transmission. Get a check list of what to look for online. You are basically buying a vehicle AND a self contained house at the same time. Basically test and look at everything.
