When they begin to streak I wipe them down with 400 grit sand paper to remove the hard oxidation that builds up on the surface, then wipe with a light coating of lubricant and they are good for another year or so. They used to sell silicone rubber blades that lasted longer but I have not seen these in a while. I just bought 28 in blades that Ralph showed pictures of for $3.99 a piece on sale, one of them does not make contact with the windshield in the center due to the re curve of the blade or the spring tension being too low, so I had to remove some of curve.
One trick I learned to keep wiper blades in good shape for years on the motorhome is to lift them off the windshield whenever I'm parked for a few days or longer. The Michelin blades I have on now are 5 years old and still doing fine. Got them at Walmart for about $10 a piece.
