Workhorse Avg Fuel Economy

I have a 2005 Southwind on a Workhorse W22 chassis with the 8.1 liter Vortec engine and I would like to know how to reset the avg fuel economy in the instrument panel display. I've tried everything I can think of to no avail. I know that it resets from time to time, but I can't figure out how. It doesn't seem to reset when you reset the trip meters or by holding the buttons down when the avg is displayed. Nothing in the owners manual.
  • My average over the last 80,000 miles is 7.1mpg pulling a 4,000lb toad.

I don't even look at that reading on the gauge...My thought is that it lies. Kinda like VW.
  • It averages the last 50 miles.. I don't know if it is resetable. Ours reads 8.4 right now..
  • Larry, if your not aware Workhorse has a Actia dash recall so if your dash info is not working right you can go to a Workhorse dealer for a free of charge recall repair. Hope this helps you!
  • It'll end up being around 7.2 mpg give or take a little. Don't need a computer.
