Now I am not complaining . I like to have things to do and most of the time I am working on the motorhome for preventitive maintenance items. Sometimes I seem to be overwhelmed and wonder if it is just me or is there something that needs to be fixed, improved, painted, waxed, cleaned, lubricated, ect. ect. all the time. I think I could go and work on something everyday and not run out of things to do. Maybe I am just a little overboard on keeping things in good order but when I see something that needs to be fixed or catch something before there is a problem I can not and will not ignore it for long. I seem to have something to work on after every camping trip. Ken

I'm right there with you Ken. It is just those that like to take care of there stuff. There are a bunch on here that I think are the same. :). It's not a bad thing at all.

I'm always tinkering - if I'm not maintaining the coach I'm improving it....its what i like to do.Will stuff break, sure, will it ruin our trip....only if i let it ! We've got road side assistance and can cover the repairs....at the end of the day the coach is no more complicated or less reliable than anything else we own (how or cars)....theres nothing to say your car won't break down on a trip.you can prepare all you want, theres still gonna be things that catch you by surprise....dont let it ruin your trip or time in the coach...sometimes the best laughs & memories come from UNPlanned events.

I hear things failing a we speak. If I ain't building or repairing then it's breaking. Only thing worst is my 60 year old body!CTC

I keep two lists for the motorhome, one for those items that require maintenance of some sort, and the other for those things I'd like to modify or upgrade. If there are no critical items on the first list, doing one from the second list usually has a higher satisfaction level.

It does not matter the age or type of rv one has, there is always something to do. I have my urgent to do list, my check over to do list and my want to do list, all of which gets interrupted by the need to keep up with the remodeling of our mobile home. Any more irons in the fire and I will just scream. Moving right now is the priority when that is done then I can divide my time between the remodeling and our mh which is most enjoyable. It means escape from adulthood and getting to be footloose and fancy free for a while.

before we bought our coach a friend said if he goes out & something doesnt break he worries MORE....expecting that he's missed something or out of fear for whats next.

he summed it up best...."an RV is the equivalent of taking your HOUSE on an earthquake ride every time you go out" !

Well hell, all I can add is DITTO" You better be handy with a checkbook or tools. I love the modifications. Have made over 100. Yes I used to keep a list. Gave up.

Always something to do. Luckily, my MH is old enough that I can do most of the light work. I like being able to replace the starter without needing to jack up the vehicle.

I gave up on the check book....just carry a VISA card now.....:B

That's the Reason we RV Camp to force myself to slow down.

Before I purchase my RV, every weekend I was working my self in to a early grave.
