Zip Dee awning lights

Ive got some great main awning lights but cant figure out how to hang them. Zip Dee main awning has no groove in the main awning tube to slide in hangers..?

Anyone using awning lights and Zip Dee awnings together?.. If so let me know what you are using.

Got a ZipDee awning but no lights. Don't like the idea of taking them down every time I store the awning and then storing the lights.

BTW. You do know that ZipDee makes a conversion kit so you don't hook the claw of the rafter arm to the top of the awning but reverses the arm so claw attaches to roller tube. Best investment I've made in my awning. I no longer need the 'magical' awning rod to release the catches on the rafter arm as I can reach up and release them while standing under the awning.

I cant find the so-named conversion kit on any of their pages???
  • I attached a bungie cord with a hook on each end of light strand and just hook it to each support arm. I'm not sure this would work with heavier light strands but mine is lightweight. For a heavier set of lights I would run a cable or rope to support lights from.

  • I think Airstream trailers used Zip Dee and there are many Country Coach owners at IRV2 Country Coach forum. Perhaps one of those forums could help.

My DW bought some when we first got the coach 13 years ago.

They still have not been hung.

Of course, I do not like them ...... so never found a solution.

    Convenient!

I on the other hand I DO like awning lights AT TIMES. Since we intend this summer to travel to a certain location and sit for 4-5 days...I thought if the weather was nice we all could sit outside with a "refreshment" and enjoy the evening.

I just use wooden cloths pins to hang my lights on my awning and in case of bad weather I can just pull them of and get my awning in. I don't have your brand nut has a flap covering the tube and that is what I use.

I thank you sir...but I have a hard time believing that only 1 person other than myself is using Zip Dee awnings..?

    Thanks again
