How many of you are cooking with the NuWave

We just bought one of the NuWave cook tops. It's their newer model called NuWave Gold. One of the main reasons we decided on it is the keep the temperature down inside the m/h. It only heats the skillet/pan/pot/etc. It gets pretty good reviews on-line and it looks like the majority of the bad reviews is due to not knowing how to use the controls.

Anyone else using one or any other portable induction cooktop AND what do you think about it (good or bad)?

I was all set to buy the NuWave and of course I had to read the reviews. Don't recall anyone mentioning the cracked dome but it appears to be a real issue that isn't being addressed by the company and lots of complaints about $109 postage and service fees.
Are any of you having cracked domes?

I have the newer NuWave which has the yellow(ish) dome and is backed by a 3-year warranty. It looks like they fixed the cracked dome issue.

The OP was asking about nuwave induction stove top cooking, not about the nuwave oven with the plastic dome. If people want to talk about the oven, perhaps a new thread is in order.

My bad, I'm sorry I highjacked the wrong post. Although not sure what harm it did as I got the answer that I wanted.

Thanks all. I think Ill look at the Ninja fryer, baker, slow cooker combo as I don't want to be full-timing with a broken NuWave Oven.

The dome is bulky and I can see where it could be vulnerable to abuse. We've had ours for about 6 or 7 years, some of that time we full timed. I can't see the dome cracking without some help in my opinion.

We don't have the NuWave Oven (which your link is about) so do not have any experience.

As seen in our photo we have the NuWave Precision Induction Cooktop and have had 0 problems and many many many great meals.

They have a few quirks, but not many and we've found they work well for 95% of our "stovetop" cooking.
They don't work very well for deep frying and the numbers don't appear to really coincide with temperature. The numbers do remain consistent though and once you get dialed in to what they mean for your needs they will remain the same day in and day out.

Really like it. We keep the 3 burner gas cooktop covered with the counter top covers that came with the coach. With just the Nuwave on top it vastly increases the useable counter top space. When done just push it against the backsplash. It does cook food really good also.

There are two models of the NewWave.
The standard uses 1300 watts at full power
The Pro version uses 1500 watts.

Each requires a separate 15 amp circuit.

If you are careful, you can make it work.

Good Luck!

I just got an induction cooker for the house, and like it so far. I wondered about getting one (or more) portable cooktops for the coach, but I hesitated because I couldn't get smart enough about the power requirement. Do they typically draw enough power that one wouldn't want to use them with both air conditioners running? Or so little it's not worth worrying about?

John S., don't you need propane for your furnace and as a back-up for your hot water heater?

I checked reviews and bought another brand, but we like the induction cooking. Our coach ahs just a two burner cooktop, so the induction unit gives us an option. I also like to cook breakfast outside when camping with our grown kids.

Our coach is all electric with the exception of the 2 burner propane stove top. I may convert it over to an induction unit, get rid of my propane tank and pick up a large chunk of storage space.
