No special recipes for Memorial Day on my end yet had a lovely time visiting Arlington Cemetery, 'Nam Wall, Korean War Memorial (kind of eerie in a realistic manner) WW2 Monument, Lincoln and MLK Memorials this year followed by BBQ from Texas Jack's.
Oh and the Smithsonian's Air and Space museum has a great exhibit on the official American artist-soldiers of WWI, photos of some of the recently excavated quarry trenches of Picardy complete with WWI graffiti (and a pic of a full kitchen complete with pots and pans on an enormous stove discovered in a cave!) as well as a moving bronze and bio of Eugene Bullard, disputably the first Black American pilot who flew for France during the war.
