I noticed someone had mentioned ol'Blue. Debra is one of my Facebook friends and for all of you who knew her from this forum, I wanted to let you know that she is bravely battling cancer. I asked her if I could post this and she said it would be okay. I know she would appreciate your prayers and good thoughts.I have missed her wonderful recipes which were always accompanied by pictures. She is an excellent photographer along with her cooking skills.Debra had created a forum a while ago and I hope it's okay that I post it here--Family Camping Chat.I would be happy to pass along any good wishes any of you may have for her.

I, too, am sorry to hear and will pray for her. I loved her recipes, and still use many of them. She was one of the few sources that had recipes withOUT MSG. :)

Every time I prepare your Smokey Monteray Ham Soup I think of you...I fix it often. It's food for the soul...comfort food. I tried to search the archives so I could make it a clicky for anyone interested in the recipe but, unfortunately, I couldn't find it.

Thanks for starting this post. I had been wondering about Ol' Blue as well. Debbie, so sorry you are having to fight this battle. I am a breast cancer survivor so can somewhat relate....Anyway, always love your recipes and know that you have another person "out in cyberspace" cheering you on! I pray your surgery goes perfectly and that you will kick cancer out of your life!! Miss you & your recipes on the RV forum!

Merry, I will let you know more late tomorrow Tuesday. My second surgery was February 7 and I felt no pain and feel so normal. I have just been busy.

I second Leo's thoughts, Debbie. Hope you can get other opinions in one of the major medical centers. Our son lives in Denver, was set for surgery there, we went up to Denver to go to Dr. with him as he was young and single, liked the surgeon and surgery was scheduled. As soon as I got back to San Antonio, I called Mayo Clinic and got him in with a research physician there. We got in about 3 weeks later and he confirmed that surgery was indeed in order, BUT Mayo could do the entire procedure laparoscopically. That was on a Monday, our son was in surgery on Thursday and is doing well . Recovery was much faster than traditional surgery. That was in '05. This is just an example of how different medical care can be in a place that specializes in certain problems.
