- mmckin1269ExplorerWe too will be losing the distant networks provided by AAD through Dish. We don't want to lose this service! It's wonderful when traveling because you have the same channels all the time instead of having to call Dish and change addresses every time you drive out of the spot beam.
- hilldudeExplorerIn Fl. this winter called Dish gave the address and zip received locals. Worked great. I have a Tailgater.
- cochise49ExplorerSounds perfect Dutch. I'll try it on our long trip this spring.

While not always every day if I'm still within the same spot beam footprint, I do change my service address frequently while traveling. I've found the Dish Customer Service chat system to be the most efficient way to make the change. I pre-write the new address info in a text file to make sure it's correct, and then copy and paste into the chat window once the session is established.
My typical message looks like this:
Hi,
This account is for my RV, and I have changed locations.
Please change my service address to:
312 Ft Chiswell Rd #198
Max Meadows, VA 24360
My billing address does not change.
Thank you!
For RV park addresses, I add a site number at the end of the street entry, to avoid potential conflicts if someone else is using the same address. - cochise49ExplorerThanks Bill. I have an older SD only Winegard dome. It can only see one sat at a time. 110 and 119. Would I just call dish each night while traveling and give the address?
- Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIWhoever wrote that really had no idea what you want to do or how to do it in an RV. It's a form answer about receiving local Networks at any particular home location.
The answer to your question is yes you can. The other part of the answer to that question is that you may or may not get all the Networks or any of the networks if you have the wrong antenna type. - cochise49ExplorerGot this reply from dish when I required. Because the courts found that Dish willfully and repeatedly violated the copyright laws, by providing Distant Network Service to ineligible households, a permanent injunction was issued barring Dish from offering DNS.
That injunction was removed a few years back and Dish once again provided DNS services. They did provide their customers with DNS for a year or so. For some unexplained reason, Dish voluntarily turned the service over to AAD. It's been a bumpy road for Dish/DNS customers. - pulsarExplorer

This was not Dish service but Dish "could" provide the service if they want to. I think they stopped providing it because they were losing money providing it for $5/month. Hopefully, they will step up and serve their customers but if they do, expect a price increase.

Tom - Dutch_12078Explorer IIIt was reported earlier today on another forum that Dish is actively seeking a solution to the AAD DNS shutdown, likely with another company.
