Best price, Wingard Travler for Direct HD

Who has the best price in the western US for an installed WinGard Travler setup for Direct HD?
  • Installed? That's going to vary from installer to installer. If you can wait until next year you can most likely find the best pricing at a major RV show or Quartzsite or Yuma in the Jan/Feb time frame.
  • There usually around 1500 dollars. But for 500 more you can get an RFMogul which can actually be repaired. Winegard does not have any service facilities, does not sell parts except the LNB and coax, and from my experiences do not have a clue about customer service.

Is that $2,000.00 installed? For that price are they a lifetime warranty?
What dealers install it? Are they a list of RFMogul dealers in every state?
  • No, not a lifetime warranty! Yes, they have a dealer or 2 in many States but not all. Most of the installers are old MotoSAT dealers as RF Mogul is run by the old MotoSAT folks.

    First 90 Days
    (post installation)
    1. Replacement of any defective component manufactured by RF Mogul that was found to be a defect shipped from the factory. This includes paying technician fees of up to $150.00 USD.**
    2. Ground shipping to and from the customer’s location. All other types of shipping will be the expense of the installing dealer or user.
    3. Equipment damaged by the installer or user are not covered. i.e. Antenna, Feed Arms, Cables...
    4. Travel time for service or repair is not covered. ** LNB replacement technician fees during this period are paid up to $35.00. This item is shipped with the RF Mogul System and is new when shipped. Although this item is shipped with the RF Mogul Television System it is shipped as a convenience to the Installer and User and is not considered part of the RF Mogul System.

91 to 730 Days (Two Years)
Parts and Labor of RF Mogul component repair
1.RF Mogul will repair or replace any defective component during this time period manufactured by RF Mogul that was determined to be a defect shipped from the factory. Any item found to be damaged during or after installation will be charged back to the customer.
2.All labor or any field service fees on the customer’s vehicle including removal or re-installation of a RF Mogul component will be at the expense of the customer.
    3. All shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer.
The customer will also assume the liability of the cost of components shipped outside the United States if loss of an item occurs.

Here is a list of dealers. There are "2" in the State of Texas but 8 in FL. A number of States have none but nobody ever goes there!
  • Or do what I did. Drop Directv, switch to DISH and buy a Winegard Pathway X2
    carry out. HD and $400.

Where we usually camp roof mounts are rarely usable.

Pathway seeks eastern or western arc so better chances on finding a hole.
  • The Trav'ler is an easy self install. I have done three on my various RVs and one for a friend.
  • Can the RF Mogul pickup the Dish EA sats automatically?

No, it cannot either. Requires a different LNB and different programming.
