Brother Printer Deep Sleep

I'm considering purchase of a Brother model MFC-L2740DW printer. There are numerous posts with Brother's Deep Sleep mode not waking up or responding to the buttons on various models. On their website they indicate that a firmware update resolves the problem for the 27xx series of printers.

Has anyone had this problem and resolved it with a firmware update?

I have a Brother laser MFCL8850CDW that it never use to be an issue until the last update and now you have to power it off and back on. When you do this it will print what was sent to it.

Yeah- I have all of my hard wired stuff, printer included, set with static IP addresses, so that would make a difference.

router ip doesn't change, just set a static inside of the mifi subnet on the brother and u will be golden

People post their problems but rarely post, "Everything is working fine." Probably a very small percentage. I've been running Brother printers with significant usage (home based business) for two decades and haven't experienced that kind of issue... of course a new model can have glitches, and mine are all at least 5 years old now.

Thanks for the feedback. Routine power cycling the printer to get it back online is not something I want to do but apparently the issue has been resolved.

Chris,

I have had the MFC2700DW for a while now and haven't had any issues- just did a firmware update check and it still has the latest available.
Mine is the 2700 though- not the 2740.
FWIW, I have it hard wired to ethernet- I don't use the wifi capability, if that is an issue.

never had a problem with the sleep mode. Works great for me. Worst case would be to cycle the power switch if you encounter a problem. not ideal, but a work around. However, no problems here.

I'd ask the question of Google for a wider audience. The chances of an RVer having this model is slim(er).
