Concord 90 Antenna

My 2004 Tradition came with Concord Series 90 motorized antenna. An oak tree ate the head!
The company is no longer in the antenna business and I have not been able to find any replacement parts. Has anyone had to replace one of these with something else. I am hoping to not have to make a hole in the ceiling for a manual crank antenna.
Has anyone replaced it with the Winegard motorized antenna and made it work?
Anyone have access to parts?
  • If can be made to fit (a friend of mine did this many years ago) but it requires some construction as the type of connection points to the arm that raise and lower are completely different.

Just wondering if the Batwing Head might fit the Concord lift and direction arms. (For future reference)

Put a batwing with wingman on the roof. put the Sensar Pro inside, and when some guy braggs about the 20 channels he's getting with his JACK.. Just smile as you watch one of the 30 you are getting.

(Numbers not intended to be realistic,,,just suggestive)
  • I replaced my Concord Antenna head with a Jack Antenna similar to what Phays did.

Not long after, another roadside tree chewed the antenna. The Jack head was fine, but I removed the twisted Concord and filled the holes.

We really have only used the OTA antenna once in 11 years. So we are now traveling without one.
  • That was easy! Good job.
If you are handy, you will find that any other similar antenna will give you dramatically improved performance over the Braun antenna.
  • Thanks for the input, I made a repair so I could re-attach the head and all is well for now.
  • If you do something of that nature just be sure you install the proper power supply inside the coach as the Braun antenna does not have such a thing. If the Braun still goes up and down and around properly I have also see owners modify the head (and it takes some custom machine work) to accept the Winegard Batwing.
  • When the head on my Concord antenna was damaged, I too found that replacements were not available. I removed the head and replaced it with the Jack antenna. I had to make my own mounting bracket to fit the 3 legs of the Concord. I made my bracket from multiple pieces of 3/4" X 3/4" aluminum angle. I had to put a stop on the bracket to keep the arms from going "over center" when put in the travel position or the antenna would not raise.

I really can't compare that much but I do believe that I get better DTV signals with Jack than I did with the Concord.
  • I replaced my Concorde with the Winegard motorized antenna. The biggest issue is that Braun uses a motor recessed into the roof so there is a hole about 4" in diameter under the Braun. That was a surpise I was not happy to discover. I made up a cover plate, sealed it up really well and then ran new control and coax cabling from the Winegard inside to the location where a new Winegard power supply will be located. The biggest issue is that the Winegard automatic is no longer available for retail sale. It is still being supplied to some manufacturers for their new coaches so you might be able to con someone out of one or Camping World might still have one in stock while supplies last.
