Copilot RV vs Truck

For various reasons, I am going to be replacing my Garmin RV760LMT with a Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0" and CoPilot GPS. Nothing to do with the Garmin itself, but looking for more flexibility offered by a tablet.

That being said, I am comparing the RV and Truck editions and not sure which to go with:

My fifth wheel is 39' long and the truck and trailer combined are around 55'. That is over the maximum length for the RV edition. That said, it is also over the maximum length for the truck edition, but the truck edition happens to be the length of a standard trailer. So does the RV limit not include the truck?

Additionally, there is an entire section in the bottom of features I would like to have that are not listed under the RV edition, but they aren't specifically excluded with a red X like other devices that don't have them. Can anyone speak to what is going on there?

I am just back from a 4000 plus miles trip through the Pacific Northwest. I use CoPilot Premium with the RV option switched on (and I use a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1" to run it on).
With it's 31' length (plus the carrier for the motor scooter would make it about 34 - 35' long), my motorhome had no problems at all to get through any roads CoPilot did send me to. I always have my TomTom running also, and if I would have some of the routing of the TomTom, I would have got stuck.

I also wonder why the RV product, because the premium product with the Rv feature turned on, seemed to be just fine for shorter Rv's.

Looking at their table, I have the feeling that the Rv product is mostly geared towards Europe and has not many benefits for the US user.

I ended up buying the Truck edition earlier this evening when setting up the Samsung Galaxy E 8.0" (Verizon 4G/LTE) that will be permanently mounted in my truck.

They have been aware of the issue for some time, and have yet to resolve it. If you buy the RV version and find you need the truck version, they don't give you any credit.

Is there really a big difference where one can go weather it's 45ft or 53ft?

Yes. There are places I would have taken my older, shorter rigs that I cannot go with the rig I have now.

Ha, you caught me while I was editing

Ha, no problem. Yeah I believe they are. I emailed them back asking why they even offer a RV product if they exclude at least half of the market.

I think Co Pilot is trying to get MORE money out of you. Like you said Semi "trailers" are 53ft long and that's the max for the truck GPS

Copilot emailed me saying I need to buy the Truck edition for my length. What is the purpose in even having a RV edition? Too light for most DPs and too short for most trailers. Class C, gasoline class A, and TTs under 20-25', I guess?
